My son (who is ten) said the same when he came back from the local shop with a loaf at lunchtime.

Why are you buying warburtons - go the the bakers and get some decent bread
Warburtons Farmhouse is the best bread ever for making bacon sarnies....
Aye new packaging, not that different from the old one though.

I've a question for you, when did Wharbys stop doing thin sliced bread? Was in a red packet.
we only eat their seeded batch loaves, they don't seem to have changed..

Boo working in a supermarket I thought you would be answering that question, not asking it. ;-)
hello B00, how're you doing?
What does it matter what the packaging is like?

Surely the most important thing is the quality of the product
Well yeah, but I don't work for Wharbys ,and they make Wharburtons bread (oddly enough!). We just get it delivered in the mornings by a surly delivery driver who them proceeds to wreak our kitchen when he makes himself a brew.

Hiya ehthandron (who typing tonight?) you both well?

Anyhoo, no one knows when wharbys thin sliced bread stopped being made? Google wasn't helpful.
me (eth) the only contributor to AB now, himself was banned by me months ago, he's far too grumpy and contentious.
haven't been aware of you being around so much lately, just hoping recent events haven't put you off...although knowing you, it'd take a lot more than what's gone on to stop you :o) sometimes it's good to just take a step back and a deep breath.
no, ive been here, must have just missed seeing any posts. :-)

Awww let him back on occasionaly, bless him, he's a love (but dont tell him i said that- he'll get big headed ;-) ) And we all get grumpy from time to time, hell im grumpy 98% of the time, the other 2% is when im sleeping!

Sorry yelenots.
yeah B00, but you're grumpy and funny ;o)
I usually buy their Farmhouse Loaf as it's quality Bread.
Haven't seen the new packaging for Warburtons. I get Kingsmill 50/50 these days and its nice as I get the best of both.

I haven't thin slice in any brands of bread in a long time. Its just medium and thick these days. I would prefer it if they did bring back thin slice though.

The Warburtons Toastie is lovely! Warburtons used to do tours of their factory - my husband used to do trips there from school he said it was excellent! He always come home with a free loaf - the Milk Loaf!!
Bernard Matthews (bless his soul) went to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Hey Bish, I've got a bootiful deal for you. I'm prepared to offer the CofE £10 million. There is a condition though, I want the line in the Lords Prayer, "Give us our Daily Bread" to "Give us our Daily Turkey."

The Archbishop just dismissed it out of hand.

"Well Bish, how about £15 mln?"

"I can't do it, Bernard. The Lords Prayer is an integral part of common worship."

"£20 million"

"I still can't do it - it is a fundamental plank of christianity."

"25 million?"

"No, it is sacrosanct."

The negotiations continued to £35 million. At this point, being a typical christian pragmatist, the Archbishop weakened.

"Well, Bernard, it is a lot of money and we could do a lot of good with it. But I do have the Synod - they are the equivalent of my shareholders. But I will put it to them as we have a meeting coming up in a month."

The Archbishop goes in front of the Synod. "I have some good news and bad news. The good news is that Bernard Matthews, of turkey, fame has offered us £35 mln and with all the rotting churches, loss of congregations and scandals that we have had, a cash injection of this magnitude would be very timely."

"The bad news is that wre have just lost the Warburton's account."
Has anyone tried the new Warburton's gluten free loaf? It was sold out in Sainsbury's and I am not a lover of the Genius Bread as it falls to pieces.
That loaf carol weighs a ton, dunno whats in it, but it feels like a brick when im loading them on the shelves.
