My wee pix sent me a surprise today and it was a tray (very securely sellotaped I have to say -must have been on offer lol) of Baklava..

I have just had some and it is truly delicious -im sure we can get it here but ive never ever seen it. Tempt me with some other delicacies I may not have tried....

Anyone else tried it ? (or love pix as much as I do ;))

Yes yes yes - can I have some before B00 gets here....? You can buy it in Tesco, certainly at Christmas.

O can you boxy...really !!! Ive honestly never tried it and it has to be the tastiest sweet thing ive eaten -I was actually just eating some of it and going yummy out loud.Ive posed it -no-one (H) is getting their grubby mitts on it :)

I dont know which type it is -I just got sent it as a wee surprise pressie.
I'll have a look on-line and get a pic of the one it resembles.

lol pix -I'm trying to get a picture -I didnt realise there was so many types-theres loads !!
Theres some with the pastry which looks like its been spun and others like little sausage rolls (obviously not lol-great analogy there) but thats the shape -anyway they are simply gorgeous :)

Yummy stuff....but I can't eat it because of the nuts.. ;-((
I used to live in Brooklyn-and there's a fair number of Lebanese and Middle Eastern groceries there....so I ate it back in the day.

No joy Pasta re the nuts -it is really tasty...bet you got a great selection of grub across there...never tempted to go back ?

Hey NoM -I have to say ive heard of it but again havent tried it -off to google...what do you think of it?
I love the stuff. I was tempted to buy some in the health food store this morning, but I settled for some stuffed vine leaves instead :-)

It looks and sounds right up my street must try that as well.Havent had stuffed vine leaves either -im really such a country hick.Will rectity when we bob over to Spain in a few weeks -no more playing safe!!
Do you have any Turkish or Middle-eastern delis near you Dris?

My mum makes this quite often although I'm not really a fan as I find it far to sweet. Same with Halva which is made with sesame seed paste.
stuffed vine leaves are lovely, we have some in a tin we buy as a standby - delish.
