it's nothing like beef hash actually, i've no idea why he calls it that. it's basically mince with veg and lots of fresh herbs and gallons of pepper and worcestershire sauce, i actually used quorn mince and because the recipe is so full of flavour i doubt it matters what mince you use.
having watched lots of his 30 minute recipes on tv i don't believe he does lots of prep, he just makes sure he has all his pots and pans, and kettle of hot water and oven at full speed. he uses a food processor (which i did) to make short work of chopping (makes it all very small and thin too so it cookes a lot quicker). the only downside really is you end up with a kitchen full of dishes and stuff to be washed. i actually started this mid afternoon and did what i could in advance and washed all the pots and things as i went along. i did buy the book with the intention of not giving myself a heart attack by trying to do the recipes in 30 minutes, and if you accept that and just use it as a recipe book then the food really is exceptionally good.
so to answer ummmmmmmmmmm, then yes, i reckon with practice you could do it in 30 minutes. whether you would want to is a different matter, and i certainly wouldn't but as i've said, that's not why i bought the book.
