Aye, I am informed the ducks get to look forward to their food stuffing, when French farmers are producing fois gras; but it's only what I have read. No I'd avoid that too as it also seems cruel.
Ah I see, there was a point to pheasants, I am guilty of not reading entire threads, thought you were just asking, "who likes Pheasant".
And now that I have read on a bit, yes, there is a chance that game will suffer before eventually dying and it is interesting how we measure what we are prepared to eat based on the method of slaughter/kill etc.... Its echoes the free range argument, it isnt the animal that bothers people but the lifestyle the animal leads before a humane "excecution"

perhaps those who are against halal meat should make sure they're properly educated about the process before making statements which may not be quite true:

Not particularly but there again discussing wringing necks is just widening the issue. Off the top of my head I'd suggest gassing (if using the correct gas) would be the most humane. The second link refers to the animal being in pain whilst unconscious. Have to say I've never been aware of feeling pain whilst unconscious, so suspect the account is not unbiased.
