Thank you
no more than 3 days for me
Question Author
Really three days!
Better ere on the side of caution
If I've cooked it at the weekend, I'll keep picking at it all week. So - 5 days.
If you've not finished by today, pop the rest in the freezer
I would say three days also-as long as it was cooled immediately and did not sit at room temp for any length of time.
I'm still eating cold beef from last weekend. Our yardstick is: if the cats will eat it, it's fine. They will. It is.
3 to 4 days for me, then the dogs would get it, they don't mind a bit of decaying rank beef, its a little more tender by then.

if you cook a large joint of don't want it all at once why not take some slices off when first cold, wrap well and then put in freezer. use them up later. especially if wrapped separately.
I would usually refridgerate it for 3 days but, if I know there is going to be loads left I'll freeze some of it.
i know that's a boring thing to do but saves throwing it away.
i'm veggie but oh is a carnivore so have to think of ways round this sort of problem
Any self respecting seagull would pick at it for a month.
jj self respecting seagul? . . . . . . . what is that. round here they will gobble anything.
"round here they will gobble anything"

Yes ... that's what self respecting seagulls do!
If it was me there would be none left by now - but then I am a tad on the 'cuddly' side. Very very cuddly side. ;-)
JJ, I hung my turkey carcass in the garden at Xmas and not one bird had a peck. 4 -5 days for me. Your nose is the best gauge.
chrissa ...

You must have fussy birds.

If you tried to do that here, the gulls would be pecking your arm off as you were tying it up!
