I bought a jar of hoisin sauce when I tried a recipe for Chinese shredded duck (disaster) so now I have three quarters of a jar of sauce left - any ideas what else I could use it for ?
Many thanks in advance

You could buy another duck and try again.
In what way was it a disaster? Did you not like the sauce?
I wouldn't bother with shredded duck...have you seen how they cook it?

What about some duck breasts? Cooked nice and pink....yummmmmm
Hoisin is Chinese BBQ sauce, so treat it like any other BBQ sauce, pour it over chicken, or pork steaks, or even use some in stir-fry veg and noodles

Perfect, thank you all. I hadn't realised it was a BBQ sauce and would go with so many other things. And I might try regular duck breast, thanks ummmm.
The duck I cooked shrank to nothing and I didn't want to waste money on another whole duck to try again !
Thank you all as always
my fave meal is pork in hoisin. slice the pork thinly and marinde in soy, hoisin garlic and ginger fro as long as you wnat - the longer the better.

then heat a wok add a little oil and put the pork in stir for a few mins, add some hot water to the remains ofthe marinade and add to the wok and turn heat down and leave it to bubble away till you get a thick sauce (add more hoisin if it needs it).

I usally add pak choi when i add the water but its up to you what veg you have and i always have this with a jacket spud rather than rice or noodle :-)
