No one has suggested putting Baked Beans in a straightforward Curry; although jack daniels recipe is a step in that direction and it sounds great, as does Jugglering's. In fact I think all contributors have given you food for thought.
Please allow me to thank Clanad for having explained what are Great Northerns........Ron ( a real beanbrain!!)

this goes back to flat sharing/student days, a common hangover cure was to get a pizza base bung a can of beans on top then add anythign int the cupboard, usually bacon, cheese sliced sausage that kind of thing then stick it in the oven. weirdly it work's - you can crack an egg on the top about 10 mins before the end of cooking if you please, brekkie ona pizza washed down with bud.
reading that back, how the hell did we manage to do this on hangovers?????

You can make corned beef hash with them...it's really easy and quick! Just use a tin of heinz beans and a tin of corned beef...cube the beef into pieces about 1 inch square. Layer the beans and the corned beef in a small ovenproof dish and then top with mashed potato. You can grate some cheese on top too if you want. Just bake in the oven for about 30 mins....voila! If you have lots of people to feed it's easy to double or treble the ingedients and just use a larger dish
hi we use baked beans in a chilli as my kids dont like the kidney or chilli beans, we just cook the mince meat and onions together, when cooked we add a tim of tomatoes and a tin of baked beans, when these have heated up we add the chilli powder. we have cooked it in our family for 15 years now and everyone loves it. if you have kids that dont like spices just dish theres up with pasta or chips before you put the chilli powder in x
