I am loading a Steam game and it has taken over 10 minutes to get to 2%. In fairness it said loading time was 3hrs 12mins, but at this rate, it'll take 10 hours plus! Has anyone else experienced this?

Depends on your download speed. When my son is downloading a Steam game everything else runs at a snails pace for ages. Does my head in.

Around 230KB/s rockyracoon. Still only up to 5% so I won't be playing the game tonight.

gosh thats really a slow speed. I'm in the sticks with download speeds around 17.07b and upload of 0.97. I'd been getting onto your Provider to see whats going on -that speed is almost slower than dial up used to be! My son downloads Steam games and they take on average around 2 hours. They download really slowly at first then pretty quick towards the end.

Steam servers are slow I bought a copy of Rage and although I had the CD I still had to be signed up to Steam and connected to the internet to play it the first thing it did was to upgrade it which took forever I was so annoyed how slow everything was it was the last game I purchased and I wont be buying any more

In Steam check Settings/Downloads for correct Download region and that 'Limit bandwidth is set to' 'No limit'
