Uno is not so different to a game we play with normal cards called Blackjack.
Basic Rules that we play (if anyone is interested...)
Deal 7 cards to each player, with the rest in the middle for "drawing". The top card from the drawing pile is turned over as the first card laid down.
Take it in turns to put cards down until you have no cards left and you are the winner. If you cant put a card down, you pick one up.
You can only put down a card that is the same suit or number as the last card on the pile. So if the 9 of diamonds is on pile, you can only put down a 9 or a diamond.
'Doing cards'
There are a number cards that do something.
A - Change suit (any ace can be played at any time). You cant change to the same suit. You must change to a different suit. (sounds obvious but there will be times when you want to do this!)
2 - Next player has to pick up 2 cards, unless they have a 2, in which case the next player after that picks up 4 etc.
7 - Changes the direction of play (anticlockwise to clockwise or vice versa)
8 - Next player misses a go.
Black Jack - next player picks up 7 cards! Unless they have a Red Jack which 'cancels' it. Two Black Jacks on the trot will obviously be rare but will result in the next player picking up 14!!
Winning
When you have 1 card left you must say "Last Card". If you dont, you cant go out on your next turn, you must pick up. You must say last card before the next person has their go.
You cant go out on a 'doing' card.
Let me know if anyone else plays this. (or tries it now!)
