I am thinking of buying myself a new games console to treat myself as i have recently become single from my over controling, dominating gf, I'm not interested in the over priced yet to be released ps3, so should i go for xbox 360 or nintendo revolution?

If you are completely consoleless I'd still not rule out either the PS2 or Xbox from the running. I'm also not a huge fan of the Nintendo brand but think GameCube has some strong titles not available on the Sony or Microsoft platforms.
I'm not so sure the PS3 will be overpriced though, considering you'll get a built in Blu Ray player, where a stand alone Blu Ray player will cost over a grand.
You will also be able to surf the net and download all sorts to your 60GB hard drive, and add to that the exclusive to Sony games such as Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy XIII and it will be the first place you'll be able to play Resident Evil 5. The other thing with Blu Ray as opposed to the HD DVD which X Box360 are backing(You'll have to buy that seperate by the way) is that all the big names are backing Blu Ray as opposed to 2 companies backing HD DVD, and one of them is of course Microsoft.

It depends on a number of different factors: firstly, your age. If you're in your 20's or later, then you may feel somewhat apprehensive about playing the Wii. You may feel more inclined towards the 360. Although, having said that, the Wii does look sleek and well-designed, with a number of adult-orientated games planned. Also, the price: the Wii is significantly cheaper than the other two consoles. If you're into graphics, then go for the 360 or PS3, when it comes out. But if you value gameplay, then go for the Wii.
You may have trouble getting hold of one, as everywhere has sold out of their pre-orders.
