Developers are really excited to be developing for PS3 as TDK has announced that it has developed a working Blu Ray disc that srores 200GB on a single sided, six layer disc. In comparison, DVD which X Box 360 usescurrently max out at 8.5GB, and as i said before, the standard Blu Ray Disc holds 50GB, so you can see where it becomes more powerful. The fact of the matter is, Sony will be making it's money back on downloads and games, because as it stands, it actually lost money for every console, because of the amount of different types of technology it has crammed in. Thanks to Blu Ray, you'll be able to play games at TRUE HD, which is basically 1080p, the top spec available.
Your move Tracey :)

And here, on the XBox website no less, is a list of PS3 exclusives, read Unreal Tournament and weep :)

Erm, John, the assassins creed link, scroll the page down. What do you see right next to the PS3 logo? Ah, thats right, the Xbox 360 logo! I think that the developer is in a better position to decide what console it's games are on!
As for 1080p - maybe you haven't been keeping up, but the Xbox 360 can output this picture format. What the console can & can't do has nothing to do with the disc format it's on, these aren't movies. It's entirley down the processors inside the console.
As for Unreal 2007, someone needs to confirm this either way because I've seen this mentioned as both a PS3 exclusive and coming out on both!
Heavenly Sword? Yes, it looks good. Did you look up the other games I mentioned in the other thread?
Both consoles will have good (and bad!) games released for them!

LOL! Despite coming across as being completley anti Sony, I'm not. It's just that I fell into the hype of the PS2 and ended up being dissapointed with it on launch day and I felt like I'd wasted my money!
I just don't trust Sony. I'm waiting for the PS3 to prove it lives up (or comes close to) the hype before I decide to buy one! Even then it won't be until at least this time next year!

The problem with that is, assuming you're waiting for it to come down in price, is that it won't come down until at least after next christmas, as i said before, Sony are actually losing money per console because of the amount of stuff they've crammed in. I'm just looking forward to it as a all in one media centre, where you can download films and over priced race tracks as well as the obvious quality of the games. And i must admit i only really came on here to wind you up cos i thought you were just totally anti sony lol
Looks like I'll be waiting a while then! The thing is I haven't got the time (or the money) to put into more than one console anymore. Last generation I owned all 4 consoles at one point before selling the PS2 & Gamecube (I'd have sold the Xbox too if Microsoft had sorted out decent backwards compatability on 360!).
If (and when) I buy a PS3 I'll have to sell the 360 so I have to be 100% sure.

BTW tracy, you should maybe try out this site, really friendly people not afraid to express their opinions, you'll fit in well ;), It's actually a really good laugh.

Sony have admitted that around 200 games don't work at the moment (if these are PS2 and/or PS1 games isn't specified though). This could be fixed if the future via firmware updates:

And as for downloading PS1 games, this sounds great in theory BUT are Sony only telling a half truth again? I assume all games they published will be available but how many 3rd party games will be on there? and how much will they cost?
Also this would only be of interest to me if I could buy the NTSC verions of the games. I always purchased imports for my original Playstation, mostly because I can't stand those nasty pal borders on games. If the Japanese versions of R-Type Delta & Einhander are on there though that would make me very happy!
Which also brings me to my other point - has Sony said either way if the Pal PS3 will run it's games full screen as standard (like the 360 does and so did the original Xbox)?
If I'm correct this is a non issue for HD TV owners but I only have a standard TV at the moment so this is a big issue for me and did put me off PS2 to be honest (Capcom being a main offender with rubbish Pal conversions e.g. Onimusha & the first Devil May Cry with borders that took up nearly half the screen!)
