HD VGA AV Cable - Xbox 360 HD Resolution settings
6 Answers
Hi, I have had to buy a HD VGA AV cable for the Xbox 360 in order to play it in HD on the TV (Sharp Aquos LC-32GA9E), however, when I go into 'resolution' in 'display' on console settings in System menu on the dashboard I although there is a list of settings to choose from, I can only use on which is 640 x 480. Can anyone explain as to why I can only use this one? Should I have a better TV? Is there something else I have to change before I can do the HD settings? It is alread6y set at 60hz. Thanks very much for your help

If it helps, the question in the link above is the exact problem we are having so it seems if nothing else, we are not alone (on 17th May the guy who posted the question was stil experiencing the same problem). I have tried all of the suggestions in the post above, but if you can suggest anything else then please let me know before I strangle myself with the flipping thing.

I have had a look Natalie and there is no reason why this should not be working. are you sure you can only get that res??
Click on the tab again, display, and select each resolution above 680x480 and see where you get to. My television is only capable of displaying 1360x768. i cannot display 1920x1080. I have had a look at your max res and it is capable of displaying 1360x768. The xbox should be displaying it with no problems.
Try this,
1. Go into display options have a look at the summary for the minimum res. it should read 640x480, widesreen, standard.
2. Now select res 1360x768, screen format widescreen, reference level expanded.
3. You should be good to go on that Natalie.
