I am thinking of buying a x-box 360 game off play asia. Are these games compatable in the uk as it says no region protection?

Yes m8, most of them have no regional protection. Just check the list they have, it clearly shows which ones will work.

One word of warning, you are at risk from paying import duty. That said, I have used them several times with no duties at all.

Wheres the contradiction ? I said there is a risk of import duty but so far I have not had to pay any.
That doesnt mean there is no risk does it?
