Am thinking of tracing my ancestors but have very little to go on. Know nothing about my grandparents apart from the fact that my Mothers side came from Ireland. Do you think its worth me paying for Ancestry.co with so little knowledge. Thank you

you need to write down the facts that you do know, speak to your family and gain some solid info, read this too :

agree with Dot. From experience I'd say write down what you know, and if you've any elderly relatives (aunts etc) dro them a nice letter asking if they have any info that would help. My aunt gave me some names, a few pics and an old diary which was really useful as it had lots of birthdays and anniversaries in it.
you can get a free trial of ancestry for 2 weeks, and there's also the BDM site (births, deaths, marriages) which is free (and fairly easy) to use.
Have a go, but don't be put off if it becomes a struggle. We've all asked for help and you'll get plenty on here
