it took 30 seconds to find daisy, just used the familysearch.org site I've always used. check out the link I put up.
Looking for Annie Bathsheba Wheatley, born 19/11/1890 in Tabernacle Walk, Rodborough, Glos. I have her on the 1891 and 1901 census, then in 1908 she had a son (my grandfather) presumably out of wedlock as there is no father's name on the birth certificate.
She is still in the same street at that time, but I couldn't find her on the 1911 census, or any record of death.
Would be very grateful if you could find anything.
Hi TheOtherHalf,

I have been looking to start my family tree for ages but they are asking me where and when my mother and father married in Manchester.

I was born in 1944 with a sister Beryl and brother Barry or Robert, both deceased.

My father was adopted and it comes back with not known. He was Robert Edward Turner and my mother was called Ellen/Helen Melia.

It would be very nice to give me a start, thanks.
Written it all down Dotty, don't trust myself on the computer. Thanks again Gx

Hi sammo, I cant seem to find anything else about them unless you can give a bit more info
Question Author
slinkycat- what is your ggfathers name ? We may be able to find her from that and do you know if she married ?
Hi TOH
My grandfathers name was Jack Ivan Wheatley. Have a feeling I looked for him on the 1911 census too, but its quite a while since I did any research.
As I said, Annie appears on the 1901 census, at that time she is living with her parents, John and Kate, plus 5 siblings, if that helps. Thanks.
I have found Jack Ivan's birth registration and he and his mother are on 4 family trees on ancestry but none of the tree owners have anything for his mother apart from the 1901 and 1891. It's probably a poor transcription, because Jack himself should be on there, unless his mother was using another name by 1911 and was calling Jack by the same surname. But I can't find many of her siblings from the 1901 on the 1911 either, so it's not a straight forward one at all.

Thanks for looking anyway Dotty, much appreciated. I have my Grandfather's marriage certificate from 1933 and there's a bit of an anomoly on there. There is a father's name and occupation, Jack Wheatley, coal merchant.
Can't understand this as Wheatley was Annie's maiden name, and there was no father's name on Jack Ivan's birth certificate.
The genes I got from my parents are awful. Can you pay for plastic surgery?
dotty & TheOtherHalf,

Thanks so much for the information.

Yes my mother was born in Hulme Manchester and had a sister called Mabel, my Auntie.
She also had a brother called Bill and another sister whose name I cant remember.

4Q 1933 Beryl Turner South Manchester, died when she was 42, 9 years older than me.
2Q 1937 Robert E Turner South Manchester, was my brother and 7 years older than me.

I really appreciate your help.
