I'm stuck?

I can't find my Grandfathers parents tho lots on my Grandmothers side.

Grandad was Joseph Henry Phillipson born Calisle 1884!

Its now gone 4am lol and need some sleep but these questions go round and round in my head.

Any ideas please.

1881 census there is also a 5 month-old daughter called Mary J

If you get a copy of Joseph's birth certificate using the details given this will show his mother's maiden name.

I'm a bit puzzled with the 1901 census as the John Phillipson in there has a wife called Ellen who is the same age as Mary and is from Carlisle. It must be the same family as Joseph Henry is still at home, so either John has re-married or Mary was Mary Ellen. A son called Fred also pops up in the 1901 census born 1887 in Carlisle...........
