don't get the fire, you have pop up ads on there all the time, costs money to pay to not see them plus you are stuck with buying from amazon or love film, only, get the new Kobo Arc 16gb. front camera, twin speakers, headphone point, google play, android ice-cream sandwich, netflix, HD, alot more reliable than kindle, £159.99. Open platform so you can shop anywhere too.
If you buy the Kindle Fire HD 'without special offers' it doesn't have the adverts, you just pay an extra £10.00 for the privilege. I wouldn't have a Kobo Arc if someone paid me to take it off their hands. I would rather got for the Nexus or even the Surface.
People do seem to get very - passionate - about certains brands of phones, and now tablets, it seems :)
Been several posts on the Kindle Fire HD recently, most in the technology section i believe - posts which include links to various review sites.
I would just add that this business about pop-up adverts on the Kindle. They are only present on the intro page; Once you unlock to start reading, you never see an ad. at least in my experience of it.
I have had a Kobo Vox for nearly a year and I can thoroughly recommend it, so if the Kobo Arc is as good, I can see no reason why it should not be a good buy
