I keep hearing that the 'Terrorists' are not true muslims and that Islam is not to blame. But if the adherants of this religion are carrying out terrorist activities all around the globe, surely Islam must accept some blame?

Like other religions, there are different "sects" within Islam, and they have differing opinions on certain things.

So, is it OK to kill people, and who ...This behaviour comes down to how Jihad is interpreted, and who is considered to be Infidel - some would say all non-Muslims are infidels, others say that Jews and Christians are not as they also believe in the same single God, disagreeing on prophets. Quite complex.

By your agument then, the Pope should have accepted some blame for the IRA bombs during the last three decades?
Question Author
As I understand it the Catholic church spoke out against the bombings of the IRA. But what I want to know is how can terrorists in the Middle East ,the Far East , Europe and the Americas be killing people in the name of Allah if that religion preaches peace and love ? If it looks like a Duck and walks like a Duck----
I agree with you brionon, after sept 11 when the USA started to bomb Afganistan people from the world of Islam were out in their tens of thousands chanting death to satan meaning America and this wasn't in Afganistan it was in Pakistan

This nonsense about it being the work of a handful of extremists is bull****

'when the USA started to bomb Afganistan...'

Wasn't that done by followers of Christianity which also advocates peace and love?

You mean like the peace and love they showed the 3000 people in the trade towers?
To paraphrase John 8:7... "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone".

Kempie; it was, you are right, so what do we learn from this ? That the big organised religions breed fanatics and killers ?
old saying, don't know where from: 'An idea is not responsible for the people who hold it.' History - from the Crusades to today's protesting Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka - shows that Islam has no monopoly on violence.
Religion can be used to excuse/condone anything!
Thats very true mystress and in the case of Islamic terrorism it is used to condone anything, the cutting off of a mans head on video tape should tell you all you need to know about these "human beings"
Terrorists are not all islamic you know. This is yet another way of categorising evil. Does anyone know which (if any) religion Hitler followed? If none, then maybe all athieststs are potential terrorists.
I believe, as a non-practising Christian, that there is good and bad everywhere. Let's not tar everyone with the same brush. That said, whoever was responsible for our recent attacks should be put in a room full of suicide bombers (none of which should be aware of the other occupants). Lets see the look on THEIR faces when they realise they've been had!
I dont tar everyone with the same brush smee tracy but what do YOU call the vermin that killed 3000 innocent people in the world trade towers?

and no they were not nazis or anyone else they were the lowest vermin on earth they were Islamic fundamentalists
don1, I am very very sorry. I did not wish in any way to offend you or anyone else who was affected by 9/11, and let's face it who wasn't affected.
We all know Bin Laden is better off dead. What I was trying to say is that we cannot and should not point the finger to everyone who follows Islam. It is, to my belief, a largely peaceful religion and thererfore should be given, as a LEGITIMATE religion, the benefit of the doubt.
I've just seen on the news that Birmingham's Broad Street has been evacuated tonight.
Again don1 I do apologise
that said don1, I do feel you have a problem.
mind you, as ann_h says, according to Jihad, Christians are the Muslims' friend. So why are they targetting largely Christian countries? What had Ken Bigley done?
I keep hearing that the 'Mass Murderers Who Brick Up Their Victims In the Walls Of Their Houses in Cromwell Street' are not true builders and that the building trade is not to blame. But if the adherants of this trade are carrying out murderous activities all around the globe, surely builders must accept some blame?
I keep hearing that the 'GPs who keep bumping off old women and stealing their wills' are not true doctors and that the medical trade is not to blame. But if the adherants of this trade are carrying out murderous activities all around the globe, surely doctors must accept some blame?

That's a coincidence, Waldo, because  I   keep hearing that murderers are not true people and that mankind is not to blame. But if the adherants of this species are carrying out murderous activities all around the globe, surely Homo sapiens must accept some blame?

Where do you draw the line, Bronon?

There are branches of Christianity that believe that homosexuels are not natural in the eyes of God and therefore should have their nether regions cut off as punishmnet to their "practices". Is Christianity to blame for this? Ah yes, i can just see Jesus now, sitting at the right of God, saying to the Saints "you know what, im so glad I put in that hidden messege about castrating poofs" -  I think not.

It says no where in the Jihad that merciless murdering of gentiles is permitted. It is a particular take on it that has been warped by certian peoples points of view. The Crusades showed very little Christian love, but it was their take on the bible. Same with terrorists. If you are saying that the islamic family i know, or my dad's muslim work collegue who have 9 to 5 jobs, london accents and have never seen an explosive in their life are to balme for the death of these people, not just christians, but also their own people, then thats your opinion, your take on it. Doesn't mean it's true. I would like to see how far you get in life with an attitude like that.
