The next ridiculous thing we’ll have is demonstrators descending on RAF Scampton demanding for the dogs remains to be exhumed and for the grave to be concreted over, and erased from history forever.
Every time that the BBC show The Dambusters it’s edited to remove all reference to his dog and loyal companion.

No doubt the mob will be adding Guy Gibson's statue to the list because he named his dog (n)digger,.

Probably due to the fact that it was called ***.
*** = N?GG?R
I have an unedited DVD. I am still trying to source the version where Wing Commander Gibson's VC dog jumps ship and joins with Group Captain Douglas Bader and his wife Thelma according to PP. :-)

er Retro and I ( we must be secret lovers) had the usual bad tempered spat about this yesterday. Football association rules - kicking gouging scratching all allowable.
I got the film wrong - uncharacteristically

the dog was in - 1950s
and then was blooped - 19809s
then was called what it was - knee-jair - killed on the night of the raid etc etc
and was blooped 2010s

so I think it is a measure or signal of where we are up to
yeah agreed - wrong hero
at least I can name 2 heroes of the second world war

I thought the scripr was
where the dog jumps ship and starts running around the pub where it is a favourite with a Nazi flag in its mouth

the time may come - this is AB

morning retro!
// to source the version where Wing Commander Gibson's VC dog jumps ship //

you will find this in the china or is it chile versions ! haw haw haw

{explain: retro got mixed up between Wuhan China and Valparaiso Chile - a very reasonable error I thought - and I made merry with it[

There is no relationship between Guy Gibson's dog's name and what his statue commemorates.

In Colston's case, there is a big relationship between slavery and what his statue commemorates.

There is no relationship between Winston Churchill's worst deeds and what his statues commemorate.

There is no relationship between Nelson Mandela's worst deeds and what his statues commemorate.

There is no relationship between Gandhi's worst deeds and what his statues commemorate.

So, for me, it's simple:
- Gibson's statue OK
- Colston's statue not OK
- Churchill's statues OK
- Mandela's statues OK
- Gandhi's statues OK
I think there is a statue of the dog too, that'll have to come down, the dog's obviously a nazi!
last time I saw Dambusters the dog was in it and he was called by name, maybe they forgot that day.

quick before the ED comes
yeah you sorrit in a bloop free phase
that is now closed

nighty nee-jair
the black restored version
was in the phase of - we must tell it like it was so people can judge now

we are now in - let us rewrite history so we feel better

Talking Pictures TV tend to show the unedited version of films from the 1940s and 1950s but with a message saying the language and behaviour reflects attitudes of the time - so giving a warning and the context.
which is how it should be drmorgans.
The next ridiculous thing we’ll have is.......ABers posting a plethora of "I bet......" or "Whatabout...." threads to illustrate a point that is already evident.

Gibson's dog has regular walkies out on this forum with much tutting and harumphing about the revisionist interference with his name.

Anyone going to mention the name of the Kiwi brand shoe-polish?
That's always good for ensemble tutting and head-shaking...
Gibbo's dog is the last refuge of scoundrels who inhabit Scunthorpe.

Anybody remember Spangles, etc.
good job this fellow was deleted years ago or Tescos would be full of mobsters.

Speaking of the DB
How is that mission considered by the historians

Did it affect anything , significantly ?
