The next ridiculous thing we’ll have is demonstrators descending on RAF Scampton demanding for the dogs remains to be exhumed and for the grave to be concreted over, and erased from history forever.
Every time that the BBC show The Dambusters it’s edited to remove all reference to his dog and loyal companion.

No doubt the mob will be adding Guy Gibson's statue to the list because he named his dog (n)digger,.

er Retro and I ( we must be secret lovers) had the usual bad tempered spat about this yesterday. Football association rules - kicking gouging scratching all allowable.
I got the film wrong - uncharacteristically
the dog was in - 1950s
and then was blooped - 19809s
then was called what it was - knee-jair - killed on the night of the raid etc etc
and was blooped 2010s
so I think it is a measure or signal of where we are up to

There is no relationship between Guy Gibson's dog's name and what his statue commemorates.
In Colston's case, there is a big relationship between slavery and what his statue commemorates.
There is no relationship between Winston Churchill's worst deeds and what his statues commemorate.
There is no relationship between Nelson Mandela's worst deeds and what his statues commemorate.
There is no relationship between Gandhi's worst deeds and what his statues commemorate.
So, for me, it's simple:
- Gibson's statue OK
- Colston's statue not OK
- Churchill's statues OK
- Mandela's statues OK
- Gandhi's statues OK

The next ridiculous thing we’ll have is.......ABers posting a plethora of "I bet......" or "Whatabout...." threads to illustrate a point that is already evident.
Gibson's dog has regular walkies out on this forum with much tutting and harumphing about the revisionist interference with his name.
Anyone going to mention the name of the Kiwi brand shoe-polish?
That's always good for ensemble tutting and head-shaking...
