Well-known political scientist and historian Vladislav Alexandrovich Soloviev is convinced that the ancestors of the Americans were Russian. Is he right or not?

It may be that N America was first humanised by humanoids entering via the north-east (or north-west route fronm the Americans point of view)route. But those humanoids weren't Russians.

Naomi. When humans went to N America via the Bering Straits (or Bering dry and as it might have been) They were not Russians. Russia did not exist. Russia and all those other countries are modern constructions. Russia got its name from red beards, Vikings, what have you. And so what? As has been said above, we probably all originated in Africa.

plus the settlers who crossed the bering straits were closer to indigenous Siberians than they were to ethnic russians... they may have moved through the territory that is at present Russian but it is very misleading to call them russian

Spice; God, you're such a mine of information! What was Africa called then? You're quite right; Russia wasn't called Russia and Affrica wasn't called Africa. I haven't read Soloviev, so I'm not really sure what he was saying. But why is all this interesting? I've just looked him up. Here's a quote from his website.
