Holocaust memorial day trust has produced a short video on the attack made by the nazis on the LGBT community during the holocaust...

more information...

https://www.hmd.org.uk/learn-about-the-holocaust-and-genocides/nazi-persecution/gay-people/

i had no idea that the allies kept the same laws in place which prevented these people from seeking help as victims of nazism.... shameful!!

as hostility toward trans people is on the rise in the modern day and trans women in particular are often portrayed as threatening and prefatory this seems like an important history to remember

where does your distinction between transgender/sexual come from pixie? is it just yours?
untitled: "I think the history is important because trans people still face significant hostility in the modern world and it's important to remember the dangers of attacking and dehumanising them" - not the real ones, only the charlatans that get gullible fools like you to do their bidding. I have no doubt genuine cases exist but are extremely rare, you are doing them no favours buy supporting rapists who are playing the system to avoid going to a proper nick.
Don't be daft- that "is" the distinction. I was asking why you consider those groups "the same"??
This view that somebody's life is changed if we all agree to change their pronouns... is that really a language problem?
Question Author
I have never and do not support that person toratoratora... always said that they should go to a male prison...

i started this thread because i noticed that some holocaust memorial orgs were choosing to focus on gay and trans victims this year and that struck me as important and interesting... was not thinking about any rapists i promise

it's not the one i have come across pixie and most places seem to consider transsexual outdated... do you have any proof that your distinction is the correct one?
Untitled- you can obviously find that anywhere...
Trans- sexual = across sexes
Trans- gender = across genders.

I don't see you as a stupid person, so I think that is probably good enough.
Nobody cares about "gender"- that is a personal, changing, and society prejudice thing
Sex- is unchangeable, no matter what you do.

I am willing to bet actually, that you can not only see the difference between biology or expectations...but that you probably agree people can't change sex- but how they choose to present themselves, is entirely their own business.
I guess- and this really is the last time- do you personally think there is a difference, between those who go through surgery etc... and those who "identify"?

Question Author
no, I think those are personal choices which come down to the individual's treatment needs
Question Author
I'm also not sure i understand the relevance of this discussion to trans victims of the holocaust about whom i notice you have said nothing

Its reductive to just point at the etymology pixie... the word transsexual dates from just before world war 1 before the modern concept of gender had been articulated and the word transgender dates from the 1950s which was a different era of medicine when it had... it seems to me that one has completely supplanted the other...
Does it? Thanks for your response x
'The word “transgender” is an umbrella term that describes those who have a gender that’s different from the sex assigned at birth: male, female, or intersex.
“Transsexual” is a more specific term that fits under the transgender umbrella. This word can be contentious and shouldn’t be used unless someone specifically asks to be referred to this way.'

Oh, and I couldn't find any websites which said the opposite.
The idea that intersex and trans might be related- is massively controversial. Possibly some truth... but still being looked into.

And zacs... "transsexual " is a medical term- and only controversial to transpeople- who have no intention if altering anything.
My question was to untitled, of why he thinks this is the same thing- but after asking 3 times, he is unwilling to answer.
Why single out the LGBQWERTY+, Hitler persecuted many groups, the Jews, Disabled, gypsies and so on. Most of them were still 'persecuted' by some for years after too.
I think it's a bit of a lesser known consequence of the Holocaust, YMB. At least it was for me.
And zacs....I'm not as daft as you think lol.... read the rest of your own link....
