I have a weekly challenge with my flatmate to learn about a topic, for a weekly quiz, and this week, it's major wars. We have to learn the dates and key points from as many major wars, post 1066 as possible, and I'd like to find a website with some basic descriptions of the key points, or timelines showing when they all were. I can only find things that go into far too much detail.

you could start here then google individual ones you're interested in. It's a huge field - I read somewhere that there have only been a handful of years in which there wasn't a war going on somewhere - so people, and websites, tend to concentrate on the details of individual conflicts, maybe too much detail for your liking.

Wikipedia has a list of English wars and and another for wars involving Great Britain with links to info about each war:

You'll find everything from the Hundred Years War to the War of Jenkins Ear. This is assuming you mean OUR wars not all wars that have happened everywhere since 1066....
