we have a number of fossils from Italy how can we determine their age ? now I nkow Italy rose up from the sea so basically it boils down to find out how and when italy evolved geologically

To properly date the fossil you would need to get it radiometric dated. It is possible the the natural history museum in london can help you with identifying and roughly dating a fossil if you email an image:
