What did this fellow do, to earn a saint hood and a crappy tacky commerical day where there is a pressure on couples to act all sick and single people feel low as a snakes belly!

Nothing much apparently...there is three of them http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/15254a.htm but none had a direct link with the 14th of feb.....this just seems to be a date when someone noticed the birds pairing of in spring to mate.
