There are thousands of people around the world who believe in a man called Bush who runs the US, but none of them can agree on what hes like. I've never met him so I recon that he doesn't exsist either......
No there is no God
how do you know that Moog?
It could be argued, Chris, that there is a God but that different cultures call God by different names. In other words, that all religions are right.

The fact that there is no proof for any higher deity is the cornerstone of faith. My personal view is that mankind takes comfort from the notion that there is a higher being looking out for him, and a better life after this one. I don't believe it myself, but I can understand why others do.
I am as convinced an atheist as you will find, but your reasoning is flawed. People disagree about scientific and historical questions, but this does not mean that Physics and History are rubbish.
There is a simple experiment you can do to see if there is a God/god;

die

The fact you cannot report the result to anyone else does not invalidate the experiment.
No
All the world religions, with their different beliefs, may not all be right, but is it really any more likely that they are ALL totally wrong...? Down through the ages of mankind, history attests that every tribe, race and culture in every area of the globe has exhibited the deep inbuilt need to worship a higher Being, and the different views, beliefs and practices are in themselves proof of nothing more than the wide geographic and cultural divergence of the human family over the millennia. Speaking rationally and without bias, it seems to my mind a considerable coincidence, to say the least, that countless billions of human beings have been born with the same inbuilt need to know a God, if in fact there never was one and never will be. I think it's rather more likely that in fact there IS one, and he placed that need there in the beginning. But as to what mankind has done with its knowledge of God since then - Well, that's a different issue..!
So ... you think that the fact that EVERY society worldwide believes in God means there's NOT one? Seems fishy to me.
has anyone sat down and thought about each of these religions, because if u study closer u'll find that all religions r very similiarm seek out carolin mist, she explains how they r all in fact very much the same
religion/faith serves many functions: it provides answers to the big questions (how did we get here, whats the point etc) provides a moral framework, effects controls on society (work, procreation, civil responsibilities and law) and as pointed out in posts above, gives reassurance that one is not ultimately responsible, alone or perishable... so to 'answer' your question (or more to add my tuppence worth) its benign rubbish - or would be if people stopped killing eachother because of it
get past the bad spelling and you have Good
No religions can't all be right. So therefore, there must be one which is the Truth. Personally, I can't believe anyone denies God's existence, His signs are all around us. Why don't you just have a look at these pages, even if you are a skeptic and are convinced that you won't be convinced! http://it-is-truth.org/Index.shtml http://www.islamic.org.uk/trickys.html http://thetruereligion.org/modules/wfsection/article.php?art icleid=72 http://discover.islamway.com/ http://www.beconvinced.com
there is one great spirit force of energy and love and a supreme power which we call god beyond our true understanding we must accept like children live in love
Of course there's a god but he's retiring at the end of this season and Patrick Kluiverts gonna try and fill his boots
y did u have to do that? these people were having a good debate but u had to go and say something about football, it jst throws the topic off. please dont in future. I actually find that, if u believe in a go u are expected to live well and live up to standards whereas if u dont believe then u can srt of do as u please (sort of meaning u cant go round killing people coz ure the best, thats what polcie are for.) personally i dont believe in god, i dont like to thin this but i do think that when we die our bodys rot in out graves or if u want u get cremated and then u ust hve no accountof whats going on i dont like it because i lke to know whats happening. i spose its like being knocked unconscious. u have no idea whats going on. What u believ is really up to you to decide early on, fair enough if ur eparents put it into ure head that u believe in the man that created u ( technically ure dad i kno but ) and that thats ure path in life all the pther religions believe that god is the one keeping them alive every day so they believe and do good so they are alive tomorow. OK i just had a huge rant and none of it will probably make sense its all probably repeated and i apologise for the appaling spelling
