ok, i'll take your mind off it by syuggesting that you should be posting this in another category other than History, have a look around and choose, body and soul might be good, is it an injection for a holiday? where are you going if it is?
oh and they hurt for about 3 seconds, you can cope with that surely. Or do you have a phobia of needles?
As the nuns always told us, 'think of the suffering of our blessed lord on the cross'. Which prompted one very bad girl to answer back 'well can I have a sponge dipped in vinegar then'.
But seriously, well I'm trying to be serious, it's only a little prick.....put it into perspective, don't watch while they do it, and be a brave soldier for me.
Plus, they don't always hurt - can hurt a lot more if you are wound up about it or if the nurse gets nervous.
Modern syringe needles are so thin that you will barely feel any injection these days. You may be thinking back to the old 'drain-pipe' needles which almost had to be hammered in to get them through the skin.
Those days are long gone,. so just don't worry about it. Look away and take deep breaths.
if you mean beforehand, all you can do is try to think of something else. At the time, try creating some counter-pain to concentrate on instead - dig your finger into your thigh or something and concentrate on how it feels. As andy says, injections are much better than they used to be; but I still don't like them myself.
anyione know why this 13 year old mother of a 3 year old has posted questions about injections in various bums for the past 3 days and each time told a different story about their age and sex?
