Insulation under vinyl tiles?
I'm putting down some vinyl tiles/planks in my Mums hallway. The floor is wooden floorboards so it'll probably want levelling with hardboard first but would you put any insulation down too.

You then have the problem of a raised floor level... a step into the room... and maybe door shortening.
If that rules it out, then maybe consider lifting the existing boards, and insulating under them, within the floor joists.
