Good evening.
We have one of those cisterns that have a "quiet" flush.
Ours got really noisy. On investigation, we found the plastic sleeve had split.
Does anyone know if you can buy just the sleeve please? Also, what is the proper term for it. Thanks in anticipation

Do you mean one of these ........ with a thin plastic sleeve that carries the water?

If so, look at the price. Much better to replace the whole valve for that small cost. I can't say I've ever seen them as spares.

Don't know exactly what you mean but you may find it here: http://www.plumbers-m...stern-spares-30-c.asp
Is it one made of thin clear plastic film.Have you tried repairing the split? Maybe cellotape? Dont know if you would be able to get it on its own, you would have to buy the complete inlet valve.
Oddly enough, the very same thing happened in the BT house last week.

I took it to pieces and reversed the plastic sleeve, job done!

Forget the cello tape option and buy a new valve. It will be an easy fix as you can just replace the top of the valve, complete with new tail.

Thank you. for your replies. The Builder has hit the nail right on the head, that's exactly the bit. We have a local Screwfix, I'll get two

Alava, thanks, I couldn't imagine sellotape lasting long in water - but thanks Malagabob.
