When we switch the hobs on the ignition goes on clicking for some time after the gas has lit. I've used electrical contact cleaner on the switches but it still goes on. It isn't life threatening or anything - but it is very irritating.
Any suggestions welcome. TIA

Thanks. That could be the solution although I am reluctant to pay what the 'experts' charge for what is almost always a 5 minute job.
In order for the clicking to stop a sensor has to be in contact with the flame of the hob burner. It could be that the sensor is missing the flame or the sensor needs a clean maybe has some grease or dirt on it ?
Not suggesting your Hob is dirty by the way !!!!

Thanks emeritus. I've just had a go at cleaning what I can see and there is no excessive grease or dirt. I will go and give it another go with a fine wire brush.
my oven wont light up but the rest of the hobs do, and the grill works. I cleaned it, but the fire thingy in the oven is moving about? what have i done wrong?
