Shower *** has broken and cannot find replacement.
If I take *** off there is a round plastic bit. Looking at what I could drill/insert into this to turn off and on. Cannot replace shower at present.

Tonyv: I was thinking the same but taking the cover off and messing around with it might not be so wise. Personally I'd probably araldite it also. Other than that I'd drill a small hole through the side of the shaft and the insert a piece of steal on a 90% angle which I could then just twist round to operate. Or use an old socket from a socket set and pin that to the shaft. Retro T-bar shower power kn.ob

if there is a little plastic bit sticking out could you perhaps fit one of these to it, no drilling needed just put it over and tighten up. not the most elegant but might serve your purpose.

Dizmo often I suggest what I would do, because I know I can do it safely and am competent to do so, same as you I guess. Anyway lots of ideas for Gav to mull over. One thing for sure I would have some sort of functioning shower if that was the only way to wash ie no bath

If it's a standard type with a serrated spigot (sticky-out bit) then maybe have a look on Maplin's site. They have knobs of all nations on there (volume controls etc)
