Concreting Wooden Shed Base Pegs Into Loose Ground.

Hello, I am planning to dig post holes and fill with concrete to fix in a wooden shed base. The ground I plan to build on mainly consists of loose soil. How do I support and stabilise the shed base?

Hello! We've just had a field shelter erected. My da got rods you normally use to stake out ponies with, they are like curley metal you screw into the ground. He fixed down the shed at four corners with metal chains attached to these rods . He got the chains for our local Farm supplies place. Its a big shed 20 ft by 12 ft.

Or ......................... concrete possibly isn't going to be necessary in loose soil, Mike. Simply drive these into the ground.............

One at each corner, and if the shed is long, then maybe additional spikes midway down the long sides.

Fix short ends of 75 x 75mm treated timber into each spike. Fix longitudinal bearers (maybe 100 x 50mm treated) to the short ends. Four sides of the shed, and one or two across the middle.

Fix the shed onto that lot.
