Torx
7 Answers
Hopefully a quick question. If I buy a Torx security screwdriver say TT30 can that be used without issue to screw in a Torx normal screw i.e. T30 ?
It's that I a need to get one locally, quickly, and all I can presently see on the Net (without mail order) is the TT30 version.
Cheers.

I think the security Torx have a small spike in the centre of the hole and the screwdrivers have a hole in to accept the spike. Security drivers can be used on ALL torx screws; security screws NEED a security driver.

Cheers. Big issue is that it's not for me, my woman needs them before I get back today, otherwise I have T30 bits. I think the screwdriver would work as it seems it may have a gap for a post that isn't there anyway, so ought not be an issue. Seems the choice is either to wait a week before fitting, so I can get the bits to her, or go for the TT30 after all.
