What size mains cable for a hob?
12 Answers
My new cooker specifies that it needs 6mm cable as a minimum, however the new hob does not.
Do you know whether 2.5mm cable would be sufficient for a hob or whether this needs 6mm as well?
Thanks in advance.

it sounds to me that you'd be better getting someone who knows what they are doing
it's actually against the law to install wiring if you are not qualified - so your insurance will be as void as your knowledge - and yes the fire service will be able to identify both the source - and the fact it's new.
the good scenario is you just burn down the house
the bad one is that you bridge cooker and hob - 7Kw is drawing enough current to almost guarantee a hell of a bang
