I have a Tamaya Elicia 1000m Cooker Hood/extractor fan. It has never worked since installation and the kitchen fitter "did a runner" before I could sort it out. Although the fan is rotating, VERY little air is being extracted. I have even put a match under it and nothing happens. Even when the ducting is disconnected there is nothing happening. Has anyone got any ideas on how to get this to work. It is supposed to be connected to an outside duct. Cheers.
Sorry ,long long way from you, North wales, if you have the manual, study it closely because there must be a simple way to alter it from recirculation to venting. Knoobys nearer he is London, ask him down for the day lol. stick with it, you will get there,
Why is nothing easy!!!!
Thought ok, I'll do the carbon filter route. So, go to try and find which ones I need - Ha!!
On the website it doesn't say what the code is, I try to find it on other sites and there's loads! How are you supposed to know what code number/type to order? Also are carbon filters the same as charcoal?
Getting fed up now...................
031.......been following all this, trying to think of something to help...............can you just confirm that there is an "airtight" reducer above the unit, ........ the thing that connects the 6 inch to the 4 inch ducts?
Hi,
the reducer was duct taped onto a 6 in pipe that was duct taped to the 4 in one. I have now removed all that. The kitchen fitter obviously knew that it would be a lot of extra work to remove the existing 4 inch and replace it with the 6 in piping so bodged it. To get the extractor to work through the piping would involve removing all that 4 inch stuff, making the hole bigger etc. I think I have to give up on having it extracting out through the wall and go the filter route.
Unfortunately, there is no help as to what filter I buy.
Cheers.
...........think you may be right 031................I bet the fitter has either lost, or messed up one or more of the parts........................good luck :o)
