You can however get radiator extenders which are tubular extention pieces that fit between the radiator valves and the radiator body.
They allow you to fit slightly smaller radiators between fixed pipework and are usually used where an imperial size radiator is replaced by a metric size radiator and the pipework is fixed in a solid concrete floor.
These extenders come in a range of lengths ie :- 25mm, 30mm,40mm etc.
For further information visit a good plumbers merchant.
A word of warning, don't buy telescopic extenders which will adjust over a range of 30 to 60mm, the water seal in them consists of a simple 0 ring seal, the chances of it failing are quite high and not worth taking.
