I am about lay a runner on my stairs and would appreciate any tips on how to go about it. Can I use the wooden gripper strips that you use round the edge of a normal carpet and would I need one on the riser and one on the tread or is it still possible to buy metal angled strips that fit into the angle of the stairs.

Hi Iseagulls, If it is a proper runner as people used to have before fitted carpets came about you can still get the rods but they are quite expensive. You can use the normal ones that are used for fitted carpet. Try looking at this site it may help you with fitting it.
