best sealant for garden fence.
3 Answers
Having recently had a new fence erected of rough sawn (ready treated against rot) wooden slats, I would now like to protect this from the heat of the summer sun, so that it will not warp at all over the coming years.
Can anyone recommend a sealent or similar with a finish that will not alter the colour of the light wood.
Having visited several DIY stores it seems that to get a clear/semi transparent treatment for my light wood os which there is a considerable amout is just about impossible.
Any advise would be really appreciated.

This is the latest iteration assuring that no "bad" chemicals can leach out. Problem is, they tend to stay fairly wet for a long time. It's best to seal or paint them immediately after installing but be sure the product is approved for application to pressure treated wood. Here in the U.S., one brand is Wolman Oil-Base RainCoat Clear Water Repellant.
The wood can be stained or painted if you like, but again, be sure the product is approved for this type of application...
