After the badger digging last year and the wet weather we have had, my grass has turned to mud in a lot of places.

I did put grass seed down last year but it was too late for germination.

Is it worth re-seeding or am I not likely to get any sort of lawn this summer

Yes of course you can get a good lawn this summer, wait for the really bad weather to ease up and get your seeds down, have you considered turfing the muddy areas?
Yes of course it is as Ratter says above. April is usually the best time for seeding but if it's warm in March (remember warm ? lol) bung the seed down. I would then over seed it a month later. Good luck
It may be worth your while covering seeded or turfed areas with wire mesh to protect the establishing areas from further disturbance.
As I'm sure you well know badgers love to forage for worms during wet weather.
Additionally, grass (at least here in the U.S.) will germinate any time except for after frost. I overseed the entire lawn in the late fall. The best time to overseer here is timing it just before the first snow of the winter… Keeps the birds from finding the seeds and provides a bed for the following spring. An older friend does the same… he says the melting snow in the spring carries the seed in to firm contact with the soil… could be… could be.
