Manuring Blueberry Bushes...

I'm aiming at increasing crops of my blueberry bushes this year by adding plenty of stable manure around the roots, as a mulch.
Anyone tried this method ?

Hmmm.

I'm no gardener but I do know that stable manure has a high pH. According to the RHS, you need to be aiming for a low pH (of 5.5 or lower), so you seem to be planning to do exactly the wrong thing!

As Chris said its the wrong thing to do, blueberry shrubs are in need of ericaceous compost and ericaceous feed every couple of weeks during the growing season, the best way to increase crops would be with proper pruning which would give more shoots and flowers and more berries.

I get very good crops from mine and I just give them a top dressing of fresh ericaceous compost in the autumn and a bit of a prune.

Thanks for your answers, I want to get some nutrients into the soil with the horse manure but I will also supplement this with some ericaceous compost and if I'm lucky I might be able to get some shredded Chritmas tree mulch from the council recycling depot.

Manure was always put on our rhubarb and roses when I was a child. It certainly seemed to work. Don't know about blueberry bushes though. Good luck xx
