Flies On Houseplants
I planted some seeds and covered with cling film to help germinate.
When I have just checked there are hundreds of tiny flies in there - some have now escaped.
What shall I do?
I have about 6 small but thriving lemon plants and I don't want them infecting

Hi Ric.ror, Sounds like Scariad flys aka fungus gnats, these pests live and feed on the compost and can also be a problem with germinating seedlings. You can use special, sticky yellow tape traps to catch them or use house plant chemical sprays and use as directed. Try goggling 'Scariad flies' plenty of advice on the RHS site. Good Luck...Chip.
