Wall Baskets

We use wall flower baskets the type you screw direct to the wall and nearly every year the slugs eat the plants how can we stop the slugs getting in to the baskets don't really want to use pellets

You could try copper tape, which slugs don't like to cross due to the electricity it conducts.
This is usually available at garden centres, specifically for this purpose.

ive used slug clear for years .... seems to work ..... its systemic ..... my wall baskets are surrounded by ivy ... you can see the slug trails around the baskets but rarely find slugs inside basket ....
