The boss bought well established plants in a pot at a local show. There are eight stems in the pot, can I split them to plant in the ground and will they flower year on year.

Yes they can be split and will grow every year. They can get out of control of not split every year or so. I've had a huge clump come up this year and I've never planted them!

Thanks zebo, I'm away to get my spade. :-)
One small piece of advice I'd like to add to that is : Put a good layer of gravel in the bottom of the planting hole, to assist drainage, they do like free draining soil.
And....I've just been informed.....that once in place, they don't do well if you move them.
