Jade Plants

Hallo everyone:

I need some help with jade plants. They are not bushing out, but are growing tall and spindly, needing a lot of support, with the leaves tending to fall off at the bottom. Also the leaves turn down and into the stems. They are in front of a window so have good light. I water them from the top, not the bottom. Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong.
