Potatoes

A friend (who has been a veg grower for years) has had a crop of potatoes that are semi-transparent & too hard to eat after cooking whether boiled or slow roasted.
Any ideas as to what the reason might be? he doesn't remember the variety name, they weren't his usual choice. Thanks.

Now then, the dream I dreamed for you, Robi. It all took place in a doghouse - er, no it didn't. And it wasn't a full dream cos as I've mentioned before I don't remember the stories - if there are any - from my dreams, just a scene here and there.

Anyways, you remember you dreamt that Elton John was waiting for you in a riverboat? I found it so hilarious, it's still a vivid memory for me. This dream I had last night, I saw from above - as if I were in a helicopter - a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge ocean liner or cruise ship or whatchamacallit, steaming along on the ocean. I was sort of commenting on it, partly as if I were a reporter but mostly I was explaining to the person sitting next to me in midair (or if it was a helicopter) exactly where to expect Elton John to appear. No sooner had I pointed to the side of the bow and explained the construction than Elton was there, hammering away at his piano. A small platform had ejected from the side of the bow, much like the CD disc holder that ejects from a laptop, and on this platform was Elton and his piano, and he just kept on playing as the ship made its way on the ocean:)

Don't know who the person sitting next to me was but as soon as I woke up and thought about the dream it seemed to me I had dreamt it for you, Robi, to get rid of the snow dream. And NOW you tell me it should have been Clive Owen!

Just got back from the hospital .Mr S is not too bad .His BP 's a bit low and he passed out this morning when they got him out of bed for a few mins .He's wired ,tubed and bagged and needled up to the hilt but has a good colour and seems cheerful athough a bit drowsy .
The surgeon is very pleased with him though .
I'm going up to see him again this evening .

Managed t get my hair cut today ..thank goodness I was beginning to look like something the cat brought in ..................and refused to eat .

Woofy I'm so pleased to hear that Mr W is home and wish him all the best for an ongoing good recovery .Take care you two xxxx

Yes trousers can be a problem. I went out in my Per Una jeans today and I wore a long line denim jacket I've had for years and years... I keep thinking I'll have a sort out and send stuff to the charity shop and then I end up wearing them again.
Had my hair trimmed on Friday and got a couple of compliments today which cheered me up cofr I thought it was too short.

They'll start the demolition work tomorrow so for the aforementioned reasons of an ergonomic nature I won't be using my puta a whole lot while that's going on. Will try to get to read posts but will probably only post on weekend(s). Hopefully they'll have finished the noisiest, dustiest part by the end of next week.

I gave Mr S a Biddy slop job Robinia :) He said had I got any pickled herrings in my handbag :) Poor chap is starving but of course it's fluids only for a while yet .
I said I reckoned it'll be those banana drinks tomorrow :)
They seem to have his BP under control now but he was very tired so we didn't stay too long .

Just been out for a all you can eat chinese buffet which is new here and have to say it i
was delicious. They had frogs legs but this time I declined. I love eating what I want to eat and as many times as I want too instead of a plate of this and a plate of that. Am off to watch Sun, sea and A&E in Ibiza on Bravo at 9 (10 here) well I will probably know someone somewhere!

Hi Shaney Have a really good sleep tonight. Mr. S is on the road to recovery now.

Glad you had a good meal Neti. I would have given the frogs legs a miss too. Maybe they are delicious too but just the thought puts me off. I've been to a pub near Ilkeston today. I didn't particularly like it last time I went but my friends wanted to go and actually it wasn't so bad. I had Tuna and cheese melt in a lovely baguette. Then treated myself to some ice-cream.

Second half has just started have to go......

Shaney that is excellent news. The anaesthetist will have put quite a bit of pain relief into Mr S to help him over the first day or so which is why he will be woozy and slightly low bp post op is better than high (all the things you learn that you never want to learn) If he's asking for food that's a good sign too...I wonder if you can get pickled herring flavoured Complan??
