christmas cactus
my christmas cactus plant seems to have developed a white powdery effect from the leaf joints, ie, tips of leaves and on the joint s going down the stems. would this be a fungal problem? many thanks for any advice.

It's caused by the humidity being to high, One can finde a fungal suppresant at your plant supply store, but also try moving the plant to a less humid location. If, on the other hand, when you touch the substance, it remains attached to the leaves, it could be an indication of insect infestation... perhaps Mealy bugs. The white substance are the eggs and can be quite devastaing to the plant if they are allowed to hatch. Again, use a recommended spray for such bugs and keep a lcose whatch for re-infestation.
