Non-flowering Orchid

When I brought my Orchid, it had a long stem with a lovely white flower on it.
That was nearly 2 years ago and it hasn't flowered since!!
I still have the long stem, which has only just started to wither away.

The plant is growing and all I seem to be getting are shoots that look like the start of new leaves.

Why won't it flower?????

I have three plants this year that have not thrown up a single flower bud and I have done everything correctly I think .!
Orchids need feeding during the summer (tomato feed is OK high potash) and then stop feeding in Autumn completely. They should be kept warm and also humid by spraying. (simulate the climate in Singapore)
Well drained on a gravel tray.
Do not pot on into a larger pot they only seem happy when they are about to burst the pot.
At all times of year you should have loads of leaves.
They are fairly difficult plants to look after properly in a dry central heated house or fluctuating temperatures.

I've been very lucky & my orchid flowers for 6 months at a time with about 3 months rest in between.
I think light is the key, mine's on a light west facing window sill, but not in direct sunlight....during the summer I move it back if the sun moves onto it. The temp is neither very warm or very cold & it's watered once a week (with a few drops of indoor plant food added per litre of water).

I consider this a triumph as I'm not that good with houseplants at all....outdoor ones are my thing! :o)
