Hia Informashun! You can put orange peel into your compost bin but too much will create acidity and excess moisture. You can put shredded paper and cardboard in to help if the compost becomes too moist.
I always compost my orange and lemon peel. By the time I use the compost a year later it has all completely disintegrated. I can't imagine that the normal amount of peel generated by one household would make much difference to the acidity of the compost.
