I want to buy another plant to put in a pot, but dont know what. I dont want a spring flowering plant as I have plenty of those. Apart from roses, has anyone any suggestions? I really would like something with colourful flowers. Any good website suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

Skimmia is nice. It has oval leaves and white flowers a bit like lilac. When they are in bud they are a lovely red colour. It also has berries in the winter.
A Nandina is a very showy plant. It has small white flowers followed by berries. The leaves are so spectacular that the flowers are insignificant. It's a bit tender so needs protection from frost.

Also a Pieris had wonderful foliage and long sprays of blooms - Forest Flame is the most showy.

Thanks to all for the information. Was very helpful.
Hydrangeas grow really well in pots (I have several) they come in all colours and the bigger the pot the bigger the plant will grow with masses of flowers..
