Hi I am going to be moving house in the next 4 weeks, I have got a Wisteria, the main stem is about 12 years old, about 6 years ago we needed to move the plant which at the time was in a pot but wasnot getting enough sun, we removed it from the pot and replanted straight into the ground, it thrived in the new position. Then about 4 years ago it was dying so my husband pruned it hard, we had nothing grow from it at all now runners nothing for the next 4 years. My husband died October 2012, this year it has grown and is now flowering, so I want to know can I dig this up and take it with me when I move, I feel as if my husband is with me in this shrub. thankyou WEST HAM FAN
Dear fellow Hammer, You've got nothing to lose really. It's really a bit late but if you water it well for a few days before digging it out and try to get as much soil on the plant as poss. you might be fine....i'd certainly go for it.
Water well all summer and spray the foliage over in the evenings with a hose.
