I have just potted up 2 small Japanese Acers 1(10inches)and put them on the patio and I have noticed the leaves are being eaten and have holes in them. Does anyone know what could be causing this and a remedy.

I would think the culprits may well be Slugs, and as for the remedy, buy some 'Copper Tape' from a Garden Center, and circle your pots with it, approx halfway up.

Don't use Pellets or Beer Traps.
